Pacific City Bank, an American community bank focusing on the Korean-American community-based in California, was hit by the AVOS Locker Ransomware gang that claims to have stolen critical documents from the financial institution.
Pacific City bank has its branches in 8 states and currently is the third-largest Korean American Bank. The bank operates 12 branch offices and 8 loan production offices for small-scale businesses and provides real estate loans.
The ransomware gang added the details of the bank and the breached data on their leak site with some screenshots as proof of the hack. The threat group exclaimed that the security implemented by the bank is terrible and easily penetrable.
The message published on the data leak site reads _"Pacific City Bank provides outstanding banking and financial services for businesses and consumers. (but they have horrible security). If they refuse to negotiate, we will leak all the data we’ve got. Attached are some of the documents that were exfiltrated."_
The ransomware group shared a ZIP archive named proof that includes several documents supposedly stolen from the bank.
