Recently, over 20GB of confidential data of Intel was leaked that led to a major data breach of Intel. Intel has emerged as a victim of some major data breach with over 20GB of confidential data reportedly stolen and leaked by an anonymous attacker.
The leaked credentials include numerous internal documents - some of which, considered as “confidential” and “restricted secret” and were under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). Apparently, the leaked information is also suspected to include many internal documents, a few of which were marked as confidential and restricted secret and were under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
Intel is currently looking into the matter, and is investigating the situation and firmly believes that the data breach and leak has come from the Intel Resource and Design Center. Intel has said that they are working on fixing the same.
Kottmann, who is a Swiss software developer and an Information Technology consultant, stated ina few tweets that they had got the information about the same from an anonymous unknown hacker who breached the data earlier this year. Further, Kottmann tweeted a screenshot of the same providing an overview of the data breach.
According to that screenshot tweeted by Kottmann, the data includes various roadmaps of Intel and confidential documents as well as schematics, tools, and firmware versions. Kottmann also tweeted that there still would be a few additional details around the leak which are yet to come out. He also said that the future part of this data leak and data breach would have more classified content and data.
Intel does not seem to be the only company to have experienced such a data breach and attack. Canon has also been fighting a similar attack that has been so outrageous that it has resulted in an outage of services of Canon. Various other big companies like Garmin have also been recently hit by cyber attacks, affecting their services in the global market to quite an extent.
